BBMP Election help peacefully

Bangalore : As it was Sunday, and Bangaloreans have a habit of getting up late on their weekend, morning voting was slow. during afternoon in 6,605 voting booths of 198 wards average of 45% to 50% voting has been recorded.

Some miscreants lit fire to pendals set at voting booth 21 and 22 of Madhuranagar, Varthur. Police controlled the situation and allowed for peaceful voting.


At Sundari Memorial School voting booth BJP and JDS workers complained that Congress workers are distributing handbills. This incident led to minor lati charges by police.

At Mahadevapura, Shanthinagar election machines had errors. Immediately they have been replaced and election process has been continued peacefully.


At JC Nagr police have taken a person into custody, who was distributing Rs. One Thousands each to the people who were going to vote. He has been identified as Venkataswamy, and police have seized Rs. One Lakh from him.

In different incidents police have detained more than 30 people who have tried to cast duplicate votes. At Ganganagar duplicate location called Sanjay Palace Road has been detected in voters list. This had 300 duplicate voters.

HMT Layout JDS candidate Neetu Dodda Ganesh protested in front of booth no 38, alleging that Congress workers were distributing money for vote. Compared to last votings, this time voting process was slow.
